Jury Room Renovations

Jury Room Renovations

On Monday, April 28, the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court began a renovation of its jury assembly room on the 4th floor of the Justice Center.

For the duration of the four-to-six month project, part of the 4th floor cafeteria has been partitioned off for jurors toassemble after they visit the check-in station.

“This project has been in the planning stages for quite some time,” says Administrative and Presiding Judge Brendan J. Sheehan. “When it is complete, the jury assembly room will be more welcoming and modern and have better charging and Wi-Fi access for the public. We are excited to be undertaking this long-overdue upgrade.”

During the project, signage will be in place letting jurors know of the temporary location of the assembly room.

The vending machines housed at the entrance to the current jury assembly room are being moved to a hallway near the 4th floor cafeteria.

“This project is primarily funded by money collected from court fees and will not be an additional burden on the taxpayers,” says Court Administrator Greg Popovich. “Our jurors are the backbone of the justice system, and we want their experience to be as positive as we can make it.”
