Judge John J. Spellacy Takes Office
Judge John J. Spellacy has joined the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas General Division Bench.
Judge Spellacy was elected in November to a six-year term that starts January 3, 2025. He succeeds Judge William T. McGinty, who retired.
A graduate of Marshall University, Judge Spellacy received his law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (now Cleveland State University College of Law). Prior to joining the General Division, Judge Spellacy worked as a criminal defense and personal injury attorney for 29 years.
