Drug Court Graduation 7-21-22
On Thursday, July 21, Judge Kelly A. Gallagher presided over her first Drug Court graduation, as four clients completed the program. Judge Gallagher took over the docket of Judge Nancy O'Donnell when Judge O'Donnell passed away in 2021.
The graduation ceremony was held in the Court's 12th Floor Education Center, and friends and family joined in-person and by Zoom. Each graduate had a chance to speak, and those on a diversion track had their cases expunged.
The goal of Drug Court is to reduce recidivism among drug-dependent offenders by providing enhanced treatment services. The majority of participants in the Drug Court program are opiate dependent.
