Judge Antonio S. Nicholson

Judge Antonio S. Nicholson was sworn-in to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, in July of 2025.

Judge Nicholson was appointed to the seat formerly held by Judge Deena Calabrese, who was elected to the Eighth District Court of Appeals. He will serve the remainder of the unfished term.

Nicholson began his law career in private practice in 2014. In 2015 he served as an assistant public defender for the Cuyahoga County Public Defender’s Office. In 2024, he joined the Lake County Public Defender’s Office as an assistant public defender in the felony division.

In 2009, Nicholson received a bachelor’s degree in criminology and sociology from Cleveland State University. He received his juris doctorate from Charlotte School of Law.
